service sssd stop - results in sssd dead but pid file exists

Testing with sssd-0.3.3-3.fc11.x86_64

Steps to reproduce

  1. /etc/init.d/sssd status

sssd (pid 1977) is running...

  1. /etc/init.d/sssd stop

[sssd] [sig_term] (0): SIGTERM: killing children

  1. /etc/init.d/sssd status

Actual Result

sssd dead but pid file exists

Expected Result

sssd is stopped
