#2509 RFE: Handle setups with id_provider=proxy and auth_provider=krb5 better
Closed: Fixed None Opened 9 years ago by jhrozek.

Some SSSD laptop users prefer to use a user entry from /etc/passwd using id_provider=proxy proxying to files and auth_provider=krb5. That's only possible for cases where the user in /etc/passwd has the same username as the Kerberos principal which is often not the case.

We should add another option that would map usernames onto either full principals or their user portion.

We talked with Pavel about this ticket and there is a design page describing the feature that got no negative feedback so far

Assigning to Pavel.
