#2255 Finish promtly when non existing user is requested in server mode
Closed: wontfix 4 years ago by pbrezina. Opened 10 years ago by preichl.

Function apply_subdomain_homedir fails with ENOENT when an account that doesn't exist is requested, but whole request continues although no more useful work could be possibly done.

It would be good to either refactor the AD search request to return a special code (like sdap_errno elsewhere) or do some other sensible detection instead so request could be terminated gracefully and promptly.

A more detailed description of the ticket - in ipa_get_ad_acct_ad_part_done, we receive the user with ad_handle_acct_info_recv but then check again for the presence of the user using a sysdb search in apply_subdomain_homedir. This is wasteful, we should just know whether ad_handle_acct_info_recv found the user or not based on the return code.
