I'm not sure why was this ticket pulled out of 1.12 beta, this belongs to the 1.12.x milestone. Sorry.
milestone: NEEDS_TRIAGE => SSSD 1.12.1
changelog: => Signal support would allow interested observers to be notified about changes without having to poll. design: => https://fedorahosted.org/sssd/wiki/DesignDocs/DBusResponder
Mass-moving all tickets that didn't make 1.12.1 into 1.12.2
milestone: SSSD 1.12.1 => SSSD 1.12.2
We need to do a release as requested by downstream. Moving tickets that are not fixed already or very close to acking to 1.12.3
milestone: SSSD 1.12.2 => SSSD 1.12.3
I'm moving all D-Bus related tickets to 1.12.4. We are working on the interfaces in the 1.12 cycle, but as the interface won't be ready for 1.12.3 release anyway, it makes sense to realign all D-Bus tickets in 1.12.4
mark: => 0 milestone: SSSD 1.12.3 => SSSD 1.12.4
The sbus-related patches are landing on the list, but we realized during review that they're too big for 1.12, at least for the time being. We're going to commit them to master only for now and backport on request to avoid breaking 1.12.

Should not block Alpha
(actually after we scoped the work I'm doubtful of this making Beta, but let's just slip one release)
milestone: SSSD 1.13 alpha => SSSD 1.13 beta sensitive: => 0
Pavel is working on this, but probably won't make the proper release, the scope is quite big.
milestone: SSSD 1.13 beta => SSSD 1.13 backlog
Signals will be important when we work on the local domain support, but not urgent at the moment.
milestone: SSSD 1.13 backlog => SSSD 1.15 beta
