SSSD uses doxygen to generate API documentation. The configuration can be found in the *.doxy.in files in the SSSD source tree. Those files were generate by running 'doxygen -g' couple of years ago with doxygen-1.6.1.
It would be good to update those files by running 'doxygen -u' to allow the usage of new doxygen features. It is expected that older version of doxygen will only complain about unknown option but generate the docs nevertheless.
