#905 add mdadm-2.6.7.1-1.fc10 to dist-f10
Closed: Fixed None Opened 15 years ago by dledford.

Build: mdadm-2.6.7.1-1.fc0
Change: needs tagged in dist-f10
Rational: it solves a number of DOA issues, see the spec file changelog:

  • Fri Oct 24 2008 Doug Ledford dledford@redhat.com - 2.6.7.1-1
  • Updated to latest upstream stable release (#466803)
  • Change udev rule to not assemble degraded arrays (#453314)
  • Fix metadata matching in config file (#466078)
  • Fix assembly of raid10 devices (#444237)
  • Fix incremental assembly of partitioned raid devices (#447818)

Without a number of these fixes, people can install systems that then won't boot. Additionally, some of these fixes greatly ease operation of mdadm on any rescuecd images, so not only would the systems possibly not boot, if they didn't boot then using the old mdadm on the rescue images would be more painful than it would be with this package.

Impact of not taking: possibly render installs unbootable and rescue operations difficult

Testing: I've specifically tested all of the various bugs I claim fixed under multiple scenarios, including corner cases scenarios our installer won't let you create automatically but which can only be created manually, and it's passed all of my testing.

+1 from me - I've seen the bug reports of unbootable installs, or, more often, the installs that always boot in degraded mode.
