#6371 Create Fedora 24 Alpha candidates
Closed: Fixed None Opened 8 years ago by adamwill.

We're well past time for Fedora 24 Alpha non-nightly composes:

https://fedorapeople.org/groups/schedule/f-24/f-24-releng-tasks.html

We have not needed any non-nightly composes yet as we have not been in RC state and nightlies have included all available blocker/FE fixes. However, we can now do an 'RC' build - all accepted blockers have fixes.

As dgilmore and I discussed, for the new Pungi 4 regime, we'd like to start out keeping things relatively simple and not worry about trying to encode the 'TC/RC' concept in the Pungi 4 compose label. My suggestion for this first candidate is it be labelled "Alpha-1.1"; if a second candidate is needed it will be "Alpha-1.2", and so on. The 'release number' identifier for all Fedora 24 milestone composes should be 1, and we will simply increment the 'respin' identifier for each new milestone compose, regardless of whether it would have been a 'TC' or an 'RC' under the old system.

There is one side build to pull in for this compose:

Would not be better to start with Fedora release as the release index ? So, the first candidate will be labelled "Alpha-24.1"; the second candidate will be "Alpha-24.2"; etc.

Starting with index "1" seems to be confusing for me.

the 24 will then get duplicated, because there is a separate field for the release that is set to 24.

Re-opening for another candidate. Please build with [https://admin.fedoraproject.org/updates/FEDORA-2016-97f7839c12 lorax-24.15-2.fc24] to partly address FE [https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1315541 #1315541] - it will cause the compose to fail if the bug which causes live images to be un-installable occurs. Please include (along with the stuff from 1.1):

Thanks!

Re-opening for another candidate. Please include:

For the record, we don't have a fix for the KDE lock screen bug yet, but it's still not decided whether that's a blocker, so this is a potential RC.

compose is done

https://kojipkgs.fedoraproject.org/compose/24/Fedora-24-20160319.1/

it has been synced to

we additionally had to pull in an extra package due to a quick in the f24 compose process. [https://bodhi.fedoraproject.org/updates/FEDORA-2016-5917b2c8ab python-etcd-0.4.3-1.fc24] it is a new package and the f23 build went stable causing it to get pulled in.

Re-opening for another compose. Please include, along with the others:

== FE ==

There's a proposed FE which is waiting for votes, if it goes accepted by the time you do the request it could go in: [https://admin.fedoraproject.org/updates/FEDORA-2016-bdd2592ee5 uboot-tools-2016.03-3.fc24] for [https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1318651 #1318651].

Thanks!

It is accepted now, please include it in the compose. Thanks.
