As discussed with Tomas Hoger in Bugzilla:
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/1277490#c7
... python-pycurl should not exist in EPEL-5 because the package is already included in RHEL-5. I have retired the el5 branch in dist-git but I am not allowed to retire the branch in pkgdb:
{{{ $ pkgdb-cli orphan --retire python-pycurl el5 You are not allowed to retire the package: python-pycurl on branch el5. }}}
Any help appreciated!
How did you retire the pkg in dist git? If you did not use "fedpkg retire", can you please check if it works?
Yes, I used "fedpkg retire". This is the commit it generated (and unconditionally pushed):
http://pkgs.fedoraproject.org/cgit/python-pycurl.git/commit/?h=el5
Not sure if it was creation of this ticket what helped but I tried the above command now and it succeeded: {{{ $ pkgdb-cli orphan --retire python-pycurl el5 FAS password for user kdudka: user: kdudka updated package: python-pycurl status from: Approved to Retired on branch: el5 }}}
I am closing this ticket as resolved...
It was due to a mis-configuration of pkgdb that was not allowing package to be retired on EPEL branches.
Thanks for checking up on this and processing it :)
