#5860 outdated repodata for f20 updates for ppc
Closed: Fixed None Opened 10 years ago by sharkcz.

repodata are outdated for f20 updates for ppc on the public mirrors, the hub contains correct data (http://ppc.koji.fedoraproject.org/tree/updates/20/ppc64/repodata/) but they are missing in http://secondary.fedoraproject.org/pub/fedora-secondary/updates/20/ppc64/repodata/ and as a result also on the public mirrors

Any news here ? The last valid repodata that got pushed out is from 06-Jan-2014, but we've pushed updates several times since then.

the issue is that rsync is timing out when doing the repodata sync.

there is also issues with how the updates are being put into place. the repodata for instance has multiple ancient copies of many files. there needs to be a sync with delete done when putting into the tree to prune old content.

removing the timeout from rsyncd.conf on the ppc hub allowed the rsync to complete, not sure who added it but please dont do so again.

I've added the timeout option a few days ago as suggested in similar cases on the internet, but it didn't help at all.
Then I've noticed that rsync started acting up after the last big update in january and installed a newer rsync package which fixed the issue. I'd guess that rsync from RHEL-6.4 will work and the one from RHEL-6.5 is broken.
