#5718 libpng12 need to be in rawhide because of redhat-lsb package
Closed: Fixed None Opened 10 years ago by phracek.

This compatibility package libpng12 is not needed anymore in rawhide (f20).

Looks like redhat-lsb-desktop still Requires libpng12 , any plan to deal with that?

I think that change requires to libpng should be enough.
Shall I create BZ for that?

It is a really problem.

After discussion I have find out the libpng12 is really needed for readhat-lsb-desktop till 4.2 will not be released with libpng1.6

Although redhat-lsb is buildable http://paste.fedoraproject.org/32520/13766423/
libpng12 is needed.

Therefore it is necessary to return backup libpng12 to rawhide.

How to do that?

I do not want to broke rawhide.

Sorry for that troubles:)

ok, unblocked libpng12. We may have to resort to simply dropping the libpng12-devel subpkg, and keep libpng12 around for LSB compatibility. I can help implement that packaging-wise, if that's ok with you?

And, boo, looks like it already got retired in pkgdb, will need to get someone to unretire it too.

Unretired in pkgdb for rawhide.

OK, this ticket can be closed now I think. phracek, you (or someone) will need to go take ownership of libpng12 in pkgdb,
