#5222 Fedora 18 mass rebuild
Closed: Fixed None Opened 11 years ago by kevin.

We need to do a mass rebuild in the f18 cycle due to:

https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Features/DwarfCompressor
and
https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Features/MiniDebugInfo

at least.
We should schedule this before any freezes, after the above features have landed.

Also, we might setup more builders before doing the mass rebuild to reduce time it takes to do it.

http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Releases/18/Schedule lists branching as 2012-08-07 id like to do the mass rebuild 4 weeks before which puts the Mass rebuild starting 2012-07-30 as id like it to start on a monday. it should take ~3-4 days for the automated rebuild to take place. we will then have 3 weeks before branching to fix failures. so ideally the features would land no later than 2012-07-13 to allow time for any bugs that show up to be fixed. does that work for everyone?

Adding feature owners here to get input on when their features might land.

The required build changes for the MiniDebugInfo feature are in (although not yet the gdb patches).

4 weeks before 2012-08-07 is not the 30th - what is the planned date? Monday the 16th presuming all is landed?

crap i failed there, yes its going to have to start on 2012-07-16 should have been 2012-07-09.
is everything that we need in place so that we can start on monday?

the mass rebuild is done, there is just clean up now, i will close this ticket
