#4693 mark perl-SOAP-Lite as life
Closed: Invalid None Opened 12 years ago by mmaslano.

perl-SOAP-Lite is in pkgdb marked as dead and orphaned for unknown reason, but it's life in all other branches. Could you fix it? Maybe adding into collection will help.

Im reaqlly not sure what exactly it is that your requesting here, could you please try and restate it a little clearer. note that we can only block things for unrealeased versions of fedora so at this point F-15 and rawhide, we can not block a package in a release that has shipped as its already out there and we can not pull it back.

The package is marked orphaned in f14 branch but alive in all others (f13, f15 and rawhide). The f14 branch contains code and there is no notice in git log or devel list when and why this was done.

I've already contacted the previous maintainer (mmcgrath) if there was any reason for this. However, f13 currently ships newer version (and bugfixes) than f14 does, so 13->14 upgrade will break things for SOAP::Lite users.

It would be nice if we could revive the f14 branch.

Its not blocked in koji at all, pkgdb is self service, feel free to take ownership and maintain it if its orphaned :)

There is nothing for Release engineering to do here

I can't take the ownership since it's deprecated.

If it doesn't stop me releasing updates, okay. Nobody can add themselves to the package either.

Since Release engineering is responsible for retiring packages, I was hoping you can bring it back as well.

Unretired in pkgdb. cvsadmin group has permission to unretire in pkgdb. I think most releng members are in that group but they may not know about the pkgdb deprecation vs orphan status.

Thank you!
