#4013 block yum-plugin-download-order from f14
Closed: Fixed None Opened 13 years ago by rakesh.

Please block yum-plugin-download-order package from F14 (before beta)/F13/F12. It breaks few other plugins. I am upstream of this package.

Reason:

This package was a hack because it used to override a function downloadPkgs in yum module. This hack because it would have taken an extra hook for sane solution and wouldn't have been too much work.

I don't find it worth to invest too much time making it work again as it will make this hack more complex and so the maintenance.

s/and wouldn't have been too much work/would have been too much work/

Blocked from f14, f15. Not blocking from earlier releases as nothing is obsoleting it.

skvidal just made a commit in yum spec to obsolete this. But probably its effect would be seen in case he makes a release.

Do, I need anything else to do so as this problem gets fixed in stable as well? Or once next yum gets released this would automatically be taken care in stable releases as well.

Just re-opening to clear this doubt.

Thanks for quick response.

I really don't understand the last question. Can you clarify?

yes I was not clear.

For coming f14 and f15 this has been blocked.

Because notting said "Not blocking from earlier releases as nothing is obsoleting it." I came to conclusion that I may have to follow some more steps to get this done.

skvidal just made commit to yum spec for to obsolete this package. So, would this be taken care as soon as he gets new release out or do I have to follow some more steps ?

No, you don't have to do anything else. It's not technically necessary for something to obsolete a package we block, it just makes things nicer for the user.
