#2680 damaged package fonts-hebrew-fancy
Closed: Fixed None Opened 14 years ago by mjakubicek.

Please look at the package and find out what went wrong, probably due to some mishandled try of rename. The package name in specfile doesn't match module name (fonts-hebrew-fancy vs culmus-fancy), nor there is a package culmus-fancy, only culmus-fonts (already for a long time).

From cvs log:
revision 1.3
date: 2009/02/27 15:01:18; author: danken; state: Exp; lines: +7 -0
rename package to culmus-fancy and follow other font packaging guidelines

Seems like someone tried to rename the package just by putting something new into the Name: field in spec file? Does anybody now about the cvs rename of this package?

To the best of my knowledge, no cvs rename was requested. CC'ing kevin fenzi since he does a lot more cvs requests than I do.

I can say for certain that that no rename was requested in the packagedb. I suspect that the person attempted to just rename the package in the spec file instead of going through the re-review with a new package name that was required by FESCo.

... is this something that rel-eng needs to fix? Or should it go to FESCo?

No, I just needed to disprove that this is a ongoing valid CVS rename or previous CVS rename failure. I reverted the changes and emailed the maintainer.
