#2244 How to mass branch s390utils and other non-primary arch packages
Closed: Fixed None Opened 14 years ago by toshio.

This is a rel-eng decision that I'll need input on. Currently the packagedb branches packages which are not blocked in koji. Some packages which are not built for the primary arch are blocked in koji -- s390utils for instance. Does the packagedb need to whitelist these or should the packages be unblocked as they are discovered?

They should probably be unblocked, as I think blocking them in the main koji will prevent them from building properly in secondary kojis, but I need conformation on that.

Adding dgilmore to the cc list as he has more secondary arch knowledge.

This ticket is now open for 5 months. Is this maybe already resolved?

they should be unblocked they are an active package. that just happens to be built elsewhere. secondary arches dont block primary arch only packages. and as soon as i finish the script to sync package blocks from primary arches the packages would get blocked on secondary arches also. Makefile.common and fedpkg need to make sure that they send builds to the correct hubs. which is currently partially implemented in Makefile.common

fedpkg does send builds to the proper arches, although it does it in kind of an ugly way, but it does it. Is there anything left before this ticket can be closed?

since there was no response to comment:4, I close this.
