please include the new rpm and xz builds to alpha. The chainbuild is here:

The reason is that we want the latest XZ and due to its ABI change rpm needed rebuild as well.

This is certainly in the critical path. What testing have you done thus far with it?
I installed these and then ran PackageKit to install some other new software, and everything seemed to go OK. +1 from critial-path POV
I have been running the new xz last two weeks with no compatibility problems or regressions so far while building or installing packages with xz payload. I had no problems to play with rpms built in the mass rebuild (with older xz).
