#950 Manual page for TPS profiles
Closed: Fixed None Opened 10 years ago by edewata.

Currently the TPS userKey profile contains properties that contain comments/instruction on how to setup profiles in general (see op.enroll.userKey._000-090). There are some issues with this way of providing instruction:

  • The instruction is quite long and it's cluttering up the configuration file.
  • If the instruction is updated, the properties may require manual renumbering.
  • The instruction won't be upgraded automatically during RPM upgrade. A new upgrade script has to be written to update the instruction in the configuration file.
  • In the UI the instruction is only visible when viewing userKey profile, so users may not even know there is an instruction.
  • If the userKey profile is deleted the documentation will be gone too.

Proposed solution: Move the instruction into a separate manual page. A user will be able to see the instruction by typing "man pki-profiles". The UI can also show the help page, but might be be better to use fields for each profile properties

Proposed milestone: May

Per discussions, targeted 10.2 - 05/14 (May)
