Would it be possible to add a flag that lets a user know whether the current maintainers of a package are looking for a co-maintainer? It could be set to "no" by default, but maintainers could set it to "yes" when they'd like some help on their packages. This way, another maintainer can just query the packagedb to see what packages need co-maintainers and apply - rather than the current system where a couple of e-mails need to go back and forth.

This would also make it easier for new people looking to become package maintainers to contact maintainers to request as co-maintainership - which is one of the methods of become a package maintainer. I guess a "will mentor" flag could also be added - but that's quite optional I think.

It's just an idea, but I hope you understand what I mean :)
