#83 Sponsor Request: T.C. Hollingsworth (patches)
Closed: Fixed None Opened 10 years ago by patches.

Hi, I'm [https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/User:Patches T.C. Hollingsworth], known to Fedora's various robots as ''patches''. I've been a member of the packager group since I was sponsored by Michael Schwendt during the Fedora 17 release cycle and a user of Fedora since it was still called Red Hat Linux.

I'm the maintainer of Fedora's [https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Node.js Node.js] stack and am presently [https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Changes/Web_Assets driving changes to our JavaScript and web applications infrastructure]. Since both these require lots of new packages, I'd like to become a sponsor in case anyone decides to come along and help. Additionally, there are some interesting packages in the FE_NEEDSPONSOR tracker that I wouldn't mind shepherding.

I've done [https://bugzilla.redhat.com/buglist.cgi?component=Package%20Review&email1=tchollingsworth%40gmail.com&emailassigned_to1=1&emailtype1=substring&list_id=1540025&query_format=advanced 67 package reviews] so far, many of which are trivial Node.js reviews, though there are plenty of C, Python, and Perl packages in there. Here are some ones that involve interesting issues:
[https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=863793 skeinforge] and [https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=907032 amftools] wherein I join the legion of the --short-circuit police
[https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=891952 perl-ExtUtils-TypeMap] wherein a package is already obsolete when it is introduced and I call on my sponsor for help
[https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=901659 cura] wherein bundling is not really bundling, "why do you need two Pythons?", and on the fallacy of "GPL without source"
[https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=904841 ino] wherein you should keep your huge graphical dependency chains out of my koji
[https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=907261 poly2tri] and [https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=907032 amftools] wherein too-specific sonames are considered harmful
[https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=977132 nodejs-lodash] and [https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=969823 nodejs-moment] wherein you should keep your precompiled JavaScript out of my distribution

Thank you for your consideration!

+1 from me, T.C has done a great job with nodejs, and i think that him have a sufficient knowledge in packaging to become a sponsor

+1 from me, T.C. show he know how fedora work, wrote policy for nodejs, and integrated with rpm.

Definitely +1 from me as well.

A big +1 from me as well, T.C. has all the sponsor qualities in abundance.

I see +7 here, so you are approved. ;)

Use your powers for good.
