#47 Add a wysiwyg editor to FI
Closed: Fixed None Opened 14 years ago by mchua.

See http://lists.fedoraproject.org/pipermail/logistics/2009-September/000228.html for details; it seems like last time the efforts were blocked by licensing issues. Ask around the logistics list (and possibly #fedora-mktg, #fedora-docs, and #fedora-admin) to see if anyone knows what happens, and what would need to happen to resolve this.

I'm setting this as 'major' rather than 'blocker' because we can launch without it, but it will make our lives much easier. (Worst case scenario: no wysiwyg editor at the beginning, and we spend a bunch of tedious man-hours converting text from emails/wiki pages/blog posts into html until the module is packaged and deployed.)

Eric (sparks) was working on this, but apparently is overloaded and can't make this happen right now. Recommendation: consult with him, gather whatever he's done so far, post it and link here, and move on.

I then had the bright idea of cc'ing sparks and failed to actually write something that would be helpful for him to see. Eric, can you point us to any materials for work you've already done in packaging WYSIWYG editors for Zikula? Then we can find someone to take up the work and move on from there.

Thanks to Matthew Daniels, xinha has been packaged and is just waiting to be pushed to CVS now. https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=528003

I believe Matthew has pushed the package to CVS, now.
