Please briefly describe the interaction that caused you to file this ticket:
Being a newbie on Linux, I recently purchased a virtual server from FDC Servers with Fedora 15 installed. After trying to figure out why my php wouldn't work. I joined the #fedora channel on freenode for help. Most of the users were helpful dcr226 was very helpful and eventually solved the problem. However it was quite frustrating because a user EvilBob wasn't helpful and was only there to insult and poke fun at.

I understand that Fedora isn't responsible however maintaining a civil atmosphere free from bullies is important.

Please note other IRC nicks that are involved in this interaction:
EvilBob - Rude and wasn't helpful.

Please describe what action or positive change could be adopted based on this feedback:
It would be nice to enforce more stricter rules on people who are there to insult new users who are new to the linux/fedora world.

Any additional notes or logs:

Thanks for your feedback!

You failed to provide a complete time stamped log. You also failed to mention that you are not running Fedora while requesting support in #fedora sucking life and energy from the community with your belligerence to answer requests to prove what you are running. I am sorry you did not like the answer you were given, that you were not running Fedora.

We need to find the fine line between support of Fedora-like VPS's (where they and Fedora match) and when to determine the issue is specific to the VPS (Fedora and the VPS differ).

We want VPS's to use Fedora. However, the ways we see they are changed/broken makes it extraordinarily difficult for us to do it the same way we can support Fedora proper. We can all try to do better to help with such issues but when it becomes obvious the problem is specific to the VPS we will likely have to ask our users to work with their VPS support directly.

In this case it turned out the PHP config had been modified and the Fedora configuration worked. A fine example of how some VPS's change/break things. Good the problem was resolved, and it could have been said better, but this was not an issue with Fedora proper.
