#59 Thank you

Thank you all for the support on #fedora , very nice channel.

Thanks to support from people in this channel I have been able to have bugs squished via bug reports.

I have been lurking in the fedora community for some time, and will try to be more active on #fedora.

I am still on a learning curve with gnome as I usually use xfce and am thus new to both gnome and gnome 3.

One small request, I understand it is hard, but the trolling on gnome 3 gets old fast. I do not mind someone blowing off steam as they are frustrated, but, I would prefer more support and less trolling.

Perhaps direct people who wish to discuss the merits, or shortcomings of gnome 3 to an alternate, off topic channel.

Thanks for the comments.

Use of the word "trolling" is so over used it has begun to mean nothing, bashing is perhaps a better word to use. If the word "troll" was never used again in Open Source it can't happen soon enough.

As for your request we have little control over other users in the channel but I have been asking ops in #fedora to avoid this behavior it does no one any good. We all know it's not perfect, we all know it's young, we know that some feel it was not ready. It does get old hearing it. The Fedora foundations include "First" and I feel this is important. As you find tips and tricks for GNOME3 I would like to hear them,l I am hoping next week to make time for working on some Fedora specific guides to help others.

I forget to add, you are a user, just as important in #fedora as anyone else. If someone is bashing GNOME3 for no reason, we do have to let people vent once in a while, speak out. Asking someone to be decent and respectful is the best thing to do.

"I understand your frustration with the change, help make it better by letting the developers know. This is an end user channel and they are not here."
