Please briefly describe the interaction that caused you to file this
ticket:

I started to use a new irc client which posted my 'away' status to the channel by mistake. I then accidentally upset an op in the channel when they pinged me about it, which i tried to apologize for. I fixed the away settings immediately. A few days later I was banned from #fedora, which i suspect was related to a nick change made by my client when i disconnected from my irc proxy server. I understand that excessively changing nicks is against the rules, but I do not do it often, and I believe the ban was related to the original problem of upsetting the op in the channel.

Please describe what action or positive change could be adopted based on
this feedback:

I would like to be unbanned from the channel. I spend a lot of time in there trying to assist other users with their issues.

Any additional notes or logs:

unfortunately I dont seem to have the logs, but I do have the ban, which appears to have happened while I was disconnected from the proxy.
