Please briefly describe the interaction that caused you to file this
ticket:
I wasn't involved in it, but saw similar cases multiple times, and I think something need to be changed. Most people don't know how to use IRC properly, and it should be regulated somehow to avoid spam ... Most people don't read about using "pastebin"-like services to provide long informations (log files, errors ...) and they paste them directly to the channel, fedbot reacts to that, kick people from the channel with an appropriate message, most people never come back after that (maybe they are frustrated, or I think most of them don't read the message they get (reason why they are kicked from the channel).

Please describe what action or positive change could be adopted based on
this feedback:
I think instead of kicking people to try to "mute" them for some time (1min for example) + message about pasting multiple lines to the channel and using appropriate "pastebin"-like service. And maybe using private message to notify the user about the issue.

Any additional notes or logs:

Second part of the "Summary". About this report system and trac, I use this for the first time, and I tried to login here, but I was confused bout only "OpenID Login", If you don't click on it you won't know it will work with standard FAS account, and after "OpenID Login" link there is "Fedora Account Sign Up" link. I think this can be improved just by switching from "OpenID Login" to "FAS/OpenID Login".

I'm not sure how well a mute works for paste floods....but we could do some testing.

The OpenID login thing is a site wide button. Could you file a infrastructure ticket asking for that to be changed?

FAS/OpenID isn't quite right in my mind, as it's not either or, it's OpenID that uses FAS as a backend, but it's hard to explain that on the button. Perhaps "Fedora OpenID" would be more clear? Or "Fedora Login" ? Anyhow, happy to discuss how to make that better.

Ok, thanks.
About Login link, I didn't know how it works, but I think "Fedora Login" is OK and better than "OpenID Login". I'll file a ticket about it.
