<PetiteMoufette> hey guys what software can I use to write an ISO to disk?
<BobJensen> PetiteMoufette: man yum
<JamesNZ> PetiteMoufette: Brasero, K3B etc. There are lots ;)
<BobJensen> PetiteMoufette: research how to conduct a SEARCH
<PetiteMoufette> BobJensen, how about you don't rtfm people that's why people choose Ubuntu or Fedora because the support is better.
<PetiteMoufette> JamesNZ, thank you
<BobJensen> PetiteMoufette: There is no reason you can't search through the options
<BobJensen> NONE
<BobJensen> other than laziness
<Khaytsus> PetiteMoufette: https://www.google.com/search?q=write+an+ISO+to+disk+fedora
<Khaytsus> Seriously...
<PetiteMoufette> http://www.linuxforums.org/forum/newbie/189821-fedora-17-iso-burning.html

<BobJensen> Then why did you?
<PetiteMoufette> do you get your kicks from being a douche? or does it come off naturally?
PetiteMoufette (~invisible@unaffiliated/afallenhope) has left #fedora ("Leaving")
<BobJensen> and the support for Ubnutu is not "better" it is just different

<BobJensen> I've done nothing to insult you

<JamesNZ> BobJensen: My apologies, but I don't think PetiteMoufette did anything to insult you either.
<JamesNZ> No offense meant.
<BobJensen> JamesNZ: I suppose in your book, I should have run the yum search myself and listed the 30 or so odd results for them?

<JamesNZ> No :) I would have listed the ones I knew of off the top of my head (which I did). And then tell them how to find the answer for themselves with yum (which I forgot).
dneary has quit (Ping timeout: 250 seconds)
<JamesNZ> Again, no offense.
<mutk> JamesNZ, I would have pointed them at the documentation, because that is what it is for.. :)

<JamesNZ> mutk: Can't argue with that logic :D I just think that it's best to do so in a more diplomatic way.
<JamesNZ> Anyway, lets get off that topic....
<fedbot> Hey, we want to make the channel better. How about dropping us a note and let us know how you feel the channel is doing, good or bad and give feedback about users or issues also. https://fedorahosted.org/irc-support-sig/ (Tickets reviewed weekly)

And then a little while later:

<PetiteMoufette> Firstly I wanted to say, sorry. My behaviour wasn't right and I apologize. I was in pure panic mode because for whatever the reason being I thought it was smart to follow a tutorial that was talking saying to get my game working I had to install catalyst drivers / kernel or whatever. Secondly, BobJensen I understand that you may feel that you're more superior than most because of whatever knowledge you have of Linux or Fedora or what n
<PetiteMoufette> ot. Please mind the little people though that ask for assistance. I'm not one that requests answers I use IRC when all my Google..ing has failed me. To think you're actually booty-tickled from the incident is one thing but I would still like to apologize for my actions as they were rude.

<PetiteMoufette> mutk, yeah I found that when I searched. I didn't know if it applied to what I was trying to do. I simply used dd if=/home/invisibleheero/ubuntu.iso of=/dev/sdb
<BobJensen> PetiteMoufette: Firstly, piss off
<BobJensen> PetiteMoufette: Secondly, It's not about being superior.
<BobJensen> PetiteMoufette: it's about teaching you to help yourself
<Initia7_B> PM = private message.
<PetiteMoufette> Initia7_B, we know
<Initia7_B> :-)
<BobJensen> Initia7_B: I've no interest in PMs. PetiteMoufette was an inconsiderate publicly so any apology should be also.

IMHO this is very rude behaviour from BobJensen, admittedly PetiteMoufette probably shouldn't have implied that BobJensen thought he was superior, but even so I think that telling someone to "piss off" is totally uncalled for.

This was discussed in the previous two weeks meetings.
