We are pahsing out our use of mod_auth_kerb where possible and instead using mod_auth_gssapi which is maintained and is compatible with things like gss-proxy.
mod_auth_gssapi also have the advantage for us of being able to return both the local name (in REMOTE_USER) as well as the principal name (in GSS_NAME) at the same time, which is not possible in mod_auth_kerb but needed for us to provide complete information about the user.
