Do I have to book tickets before the sponsorship is approved?

Replying to [comment:2 mpduty]:

Do I have to book tickets before the sponsorship is approved?

no because the budget is limited and you won't be reimbursed if your ticket doesnt get approved.

According to the notes I have from gnokii, your travel is approved for $465. Will you be booking your own ticket and getting reimbursed?

If $465 is exclusively for travel. then I can book my ticket and get reimbursed later.[[BR]]
Will you be arranging for my accommodation or do I have to pay for it? From your reply I understand that the subsidy of $465 is for travel only. [[BR]]
Also is there a way in which the organizers may book my air tickets?

Will it be okay for me to go for "visa on arrival" after arriving at the Phnom Penh airport?[[BR]]

The e-visa site seems to have some issues.

It worked fine for me when I went in 2014. Just make sure you're carrying change in USD.

Did you get e visa or 'on arrival'?[[BR]]

I guess 'on arrival' visa won't be a problem.[[BR]]

Moreover I don't think I need any visa at Bangkok where I have to change flight?

Well bex had agreed to book my tickets. But he seems to be unable to answer my mails since last two days. Can anyone please help me out. What should I do now?

if you follow the world a bit you would notice that he was at FUDCon Puno and might now on his way back

Ticket purchased. Unfortunately Thai Air has CC rules they don't disclose at the time of purchase. Ticket is valid, but I still need to deal with CC verification. Will continue to work on this.

Thank you Bex.[[BR]]
I suppose the ticket you purchased is from Kolkata to Phnom Penh and return as per the itinerary I sent you?
Moreover, do I have to purchase the other ticket that is from Ranchi to Kolkata and return or you have that one covered too?

@bex
Have you purchased tickets from Kolkata to Phnom Penh and return or from Ranchi-Kolkata-Phnom Penh and return. Please let me know whether I have to purchase tickets for my Ranchi-Kolkata return journey or that part too has been covered by you?

Can I request for some extra budget?[[BR]]

My travel subsidy was totally spent in buying tickets from Kolkata <-> Phnom Penh by bex and I had to book Ranchi<->Kolkata tickets myself which cost about USD 120 which is outside my allocated subsidy.

Bex told me to get in touch with Sirkho for extra budget.[[BR]]
It would be really good if that could be possible. At least USD 50 would be of great help.[[BR]]

Am I able to connect to Sirkho through this ticket?

Two blog posts about FUDCon Phnom Penh can be found at:
http://fedora4all.blogspot.in/search/label/fedora [[BR]]

These can be seen in Planet Fedora as well.[[BR]]

Shall be writing more on the event soon.

I have attached the boarding passes for ranchi <-> kolkata journey. [[BR]]
total ticket cost about USD 120. [[BR]]
Whatever reimbursement you can make is most welcome and would be of great help.

@sirko - how much budget are you allocating?
@mpduty - you need to upload a receipt. Boarding passes alone are not enough.

@bex: attaching the receipt as advised.

@gnokii please update re: budget - you are the event owner.

@mpduty at this point it has been 5 weeks since @gnokii made his unclear comment that indicates he will approve a budget of somewhere between $50 and the actual cost of your tickets. @gnokii is the event owner and he has chosen to not clarify his remarks and to not answer any other form of communication (email, ticket, IM, irc). He is not listed on vacation in fedocal.

Because @gnokii's lack of responses in 5 weeks, because the budget for this event was allocated by the council, and because the event is currently underbudget, I am authorizing the reimbursement for 8151 INR.

@mpduty, please take the following actions:

  1. Create an account with transferwise.com and send me a request for 8151 INR to bex @ pobox.com.
  2. Send an email to me at bex @ pobox.com with your full name, account number, and any other details required for me to complete the transfer.
  3. Update this ticket acknowledging that the use of transferwise.com to send you INR is acceptable.

@bex
Thank you for the budget approval. That will be very helpful. TransferWise.com is okay for me as I shall be receiving the money in my local account. However, I shall not be able to create request in INR from TransferWise.com as they do not support request in INR. I spoke about it to one of their custormer care executives and I was advised to mail my local account details to you which you may use to make the necessary transfer. Once you use my account details and transfer the necessary amount using TransferWise.com, I will be receiving it in my local account in INR.[[BR]]
I have created a TransferWise.com account. And I am sending you my local bank account details at bex@pobox.com. I hope it will work well that way. No previous experience of this kind though.

This has been paid.
