  • What do you need covered? (Please estimate the costs in USD: hotel $X, travel $Y. Please note that for FUDCon Paris, hotel costs per person (in a shared room) are EUR122, or approximately $150 USD.)

Air fare and hotel cost should be covered. Air Fare = USD 900 Hotel Cost = USD 450 (Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights)

  • If we cannot provide a full subsidy, will a partial subsidy be helpful? (Yes/No?)

Visa fee and other cost will be born by me, therefore I am looking for a full subsidy for air fare and hotel cost.

  • If Yes, specify the minimum amount you need covered to facilitate your attendance.

  • What will you accomplish by being at FUDCon? (Please be as specific as possible, since this is the most important factor in granting requests.)

The idea behind the participation as follow. I would like to experience a FUDcon out of my region, APAC. Then I would like to meet Fedora contributors from EMEA physically. Further if required I would like to have some introduction sessions on Fedora and FOSS for beginners if there are any.

  • If you are requesting airfare, include complete flight information such as flight numbers, desired departure and arrival airports, and times. Also let us know if you have specific time restrictions.

Arrival on Friday, Departure on Monday. Colombo > Dubai > Paris

  • Do you need a visa or other official processing before you can attend FUDCon? If so, approximately how long does that processing take?

I need visa around 2 weeks.

  • Include any additional, relevant information.

What would you need from us to get the visa?

We are going to discuss about those tickets next Monday, but it will probably be hard for you to make it, you'll get update here. Please ask if you've any other queries.

For visa : An invitation letter would be suffice. Earlier for FUDcon MY 2012, I got one from Harish, Red Hat.

Priority is for EMEA contributors, and your flight is quite expensive.
The hotel is 150USD (not 450). So you're probably asking for 1050USD. Will see at our next funding approval meeting if doable.

Your flight is too expensive.
Of course to meet between regions would be great but we can't provide you subsidies for 100% of your request.

At the tonight meeting we rejected your request, but please re-open if you've a cheaper flight or if you can participate yourself.
