On the test day orionp reported that sssd.conf was not restored when he uninstalled the server.
I wasn't able to reproduce this one. In ipa-client-install --uninstall we restore sssd.conf.
ipa-client-install --uninstall
But I noticed that we do not completely restore authconfig configuration. When uninstalling the ipa-client we run a static command:
/usr/sbin/authconfig --disableldap --disablekrb5 --disablesssd --disablesssdauth --disablemkhomedir --update
This may not be consistent with former authconfig configuration. What about using the native authconfig backup?
$ authconfig --help ... --savebackup=<name> save a backup of all configuration files --restorebackup=<name> restore the backup of configuration files
We only unconfigure the things that we do configure (excepting mkhomedirs I think).
I'm inclined to close this as notabug.
Closing, I can't reproduce this. sssd.conf is always restored for me.
Rename component.
