#6086 CA replica install logs to wrong log file
Closed: Fixed None Opened 7 years ago by ftweedal.

When running ipa-ca-install to install a CA replica, if the
installation fails it says:

Your system may be partly configured.
Run /usr/sbin/ipa-server-install --uninstall to clean up.

Unexpected error - see /var/log/ipareplica-ca-install.log for details:

However, the actual log file was /var/log/ipaserver-ca-install.log.

Expected behaviour: progress is logged to /var/log/ipareplica-ca-install.log
as suggested by the error message.

Some info, log name and log file mismatch for running on master was introduced in commit d27e77a (4.1) the issue was then extended also to replica promotion in 958996b (4.3)

master:

  • 1b8a36d unite log file name of ipa-ca-install

Test coverage: no - Logging needs to be handled properly and will be refactored, otherwise this is low prio.
