FreeIPA supports trusts with AD (mostly in AD -> IPA direction, the other direction will be ready when #3125 is closed).
While AD support covers the many of the environments, some users may choose to deploy Samba 4 DC instead of the AD. FreeIPA should support trust with Samba 4 DC as well, when available.
