"ipa -vv $COMMAND" is frequently used by people exploring the API, but the current output is pretty cryptic. We should add an option to pretty-print the JSON request and response to make their job easier. Either -vvv or an env setting (-e log_payload=true) or even a special option (--show-payload) would work.
ipa -vv $COMMAND
-vvv
env
-e log_payload=true
--show-payload
WIP patch that does this unconditionally freeipa-pviktori-WIP-Add-info-messages-about-JSON-requests-and-responses-.patch
Would be also useful for troubleshooting, adding feature tag.
No takers, not a release blocker. Moving to 4.0 Backlog.
RFE not done in 4.0 - moving to next release.
Proposed patch was nacked, submitter is no longer with the project so removing On Review flag.
