#4231 Rename --permissions to --right
Closed: Fixed None Opened 10 years ago by pviktori.

The option name "--permissions", which refers to the ACI rights (add, read, write, search, etc.) is confusing. Rename it to --right, and keep the old name for backwards compatibility.

Terminology reference: https://access.redhat.com/site/documentation/en-US/Red_Hat_Directory_Server/8.2/html/Administration_Guide/Managing_Access_Control-Creating_ACIs_Manually.html#Defining_Permissions-Assigning_Rights

Makes sense to me. Let us make the Permission API clean and logical since we are already poking in it.

master:

  • d2e3af8 cli: Clean up imports
  • 84c401f cli: Show list of values in --help for all Enums
  • ffd9bb2 cli: Add mechanism for deprecated option name aliases
  • 801b2fd permission CLI: rename --permissions to --right
