#4157 [GSS 7.0] ipa-restore from ipa-full backup failures makes service to no longer start again
Closed: Fixed None Opened 10 years ago by mkosek.

Ticket was cloned from Red Hat Bugzilla (product Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7): Bug 1059673

Please note that this Bug is private and may not be accessible as it contains confidential Red Hat customer information.

Description of problem:

After restoring full backup of ipa, service no longer starts

We did the following:
1. Uninstall the ipa server
2. Try to restore from a data backup, failed but expected.
3. Restore from full backup but then the ipa service no longer starts:

# ipa-restore $RESTORE_FILE
Directory Manager (existing master) password:
...
Starting IPA services
Command 'ipactl start' returned non-zero exit status 1

4. I try to start the services again manually with no luck

Rob tested and found out this is probably caused by SELinux and ipa-restore not setting the SELinux booleans.

Backup and Restore is to be addressed in 4.1.

Petr please check this one out as part of your other B&R work.
