the ipa-replica-install tool performs an fqdn lookup, on installs that have a large number of hosts, this can fail due to an administrative limit on unindexed searches.
fqdn should be added to the default index to correct for this
Isn't fqdn indexed already? (see 1c26c06)
This is only in the master branch and a relatively recent commit.

This could have a major impact on 2.2 users, it can prevent them from installing any replicas once they add more than a hundred or so hosts. I think this is a candidate for a 2.2.1.
