Roles can be assigned to a Host Group from the UI using IPA Server -> RBAC -> Roles, but the roles aren't visible on Identity -> Host group. Marked as defect as I think the ability to assign roles to a hostgroup is intentional and hosts in the host group inherit the role as supposed.
This falls into the multitenncy investigation.
