I noticed that https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Packaging:AutoProvidesAndRequiresFiltering suggests the use of this for python:
%global __provides_exclude_from ^(%{python_sitearch}|%{python3_sitearch})/.*\\.so$
This should obviously be using %python2_sitearch (which I'll fix) but why don't we just copy %perl_default_filter here? Is there some reason not to have %python_default_filter?
Same goes for the docdir filtering, I guess.
I can't think of one.
I guess this should go to the meeting?
We discussed this at this weeks meeting (http://meetbot.fedoraproject.org/fedora-meeting-1/2016-03-24/fpc.2016-03-24-16.01.txt):

That page doesn't have such snippet anymore.. And I think something got changed so that RPM doesn't generate provides in there (or I just didn't see case for this recently). I think this can be closed.
