In "Busybox" another bundled MD5 implementation has been found,
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/1024549
originally by Ulrich Drepper, but it's not the one as covered before in https://fedorahosted.org/fpc/ticket/130
Since there hasn't been any response in bugzilla yet, I've opened this ticket here.
Approved: use bundled(md5-drepper) and please continue to see if busybox would be willing to switch implementations to use the version from gcc.
(+1:5, 0:0, -1:0)
The meeting log is unclear since the FPC members have voted on "bundled(md5-Drepper2)":
{{{ 18:08:40 <abadger1999> Proposal: use bundled(md5-Drepper2) and please see if busybox would be willing to use the version from glibc 18:08:43 <abadger1999> +1 18:08:46 <geppetto> +1 18:08:51 <Rathann> +1 18:09:24 <limburgher> +1 18:09:46 <tibbs|w> +1 18:10:39 <abadger1999> #info Approved use of bundled(md5-Drepper) and asked the reporter to continue to find out if busybox will switch implementations (+1:5, 0:0, -1:0) }}}
After the meeting, I saw that the first bundled provide for Ulrich Drepper's code was md5-gcc rather than md5-drepper. It doesn't matter to me though. (although I think all fpc members would rather use lowercase).
I'll change it to bundled(md5-drepper2) since that's what we voted on.
