Because of Bug 716752, many new Fedora users will be unable to update their
system.

I consider this quite critical. Updating all RPMs in the installation/live
images to the current version is a viable fix.

Moving this to FESCo to discuss.

If I recall right, PackageKit updates itself first if there is a PackageKit update available. So, we should simply need to get the bug fixed and a new PackageKit pushed out and that should solve the issue.

(We should confirm that it still does this).

From 2011-07-25 FESCo meeting:

  • AGREED: ask PK maintainers to try and push out a fix, confirm PK
    updates itself first
  • AGREED: no respin at this time
  • ACTION: notting to contact PK maintainers
