#573 Request to approve deluge bug fix update
Closed None Opened 13 years ago by sundaram.

= Proposal topic =

I have recently taken over deluge after it was orphaned (among several other packages recently since the maintainer is missing for a long time) and there has several outstanding bug reports, many of which can be fixed by pushing the latest upstream bug fix release to Fedora 14

https://admin.fedoraproject.org/updates/deluge-1.3.1-2.fc14

mtasaka believes that the split up of packages is not something I should push as an update to Fedora 15 and I think it would be benefit to many users asking for it and there isn't a user experience disruption since "deluge" is a meta package in the update and users who don't care won't notice any real difference (split up packages have been in rawhide and Fedora 15 for a while with no complaints and mtasaka earlier reviewed all the changes for the split) however since there is a disagreement on our view points and the update policy is open to interpretation, I would like to request FESCo to review this and approve the update (or not). Would help set precedent.

Thanks.

We are discussing on update for F-14, not for F-15[[BR]]

Just for clarification, the actual commit diff is [http://pkgs.fedoraproject.org/gitweb/?p=deluge.git;a=commitdiff;h=d2f5ab86f1afc6283b23ac6e9d6b1dcea51813a2 this] (on F-14).
The current F-14 deluge is [http://koji.fedoraproject.org/koji/buildinfo?buildID=200426 this] and newly built F-14 (updates-candidate) deluge is [http://koji.fedoraproject.org/koji/buildinfo?buildID=234179 this].[[BR]]
This kind of change (or enhancement) may introduce unneeded confusion or potential bugs, and should not be applied on packages in stable branches (IMO)

Right. Just a typo.

Adding meeting keyword here.

Thanks.
