I have had every RedHat Linux release from 4.2 onwards and every Fedora Core/Fedora release installed on some machine I owned or controlled. I started building RPMs in 2001 or 2002 (my memory is a bit hazy), and soon had a web page of RPMs I found useful. A little over 2 years ago, Ville goaded me into starting to submit some of them to Fedora. A number have made the transition; the rest are still waiting [http://jjames.fedorapeople.org/ here] for me to do enough reviews of other people's packages that I feel comfortable submitting them.

I have no immediate plans to sponsor anyone. This request is prompted by the large number of times that I have seen a package submission that I was personally interested in, only to find that the submitter needed a sponsor. I would like to be able to go into investigation mode on the submitter so that the package can eventually go forward.

While I do have a day job and a family, I could manage to oversee a small number of sponsorees.
