#1623 provenpackager application
Closed None Opened 7 years ago by npmccallum.

I've been a Fedora packager since 2011 and a Red Hat employee since about 6mo later. I work primarily in the areas of security and identity. This often involves single patch fixes or rebases in a wide variety of applications across the stack. Applying for access to these packages in order to get simple changes pushed has, over the years, proven very tedious and time consuming. Often I am able to get crucial fixes upstream within hours but am unable to get them into dowstream (Fedora) for months.

Also, I promise to only use provenpackager membership for truth, justice and American way. (Okay, maybe not that last one.)

I've worked extensively with Nathaniel in the past (and I'm often the provenpackager he ends up pulling in to apply the changes he has done). I'm definitely +1 to granting him this access.

For context: Nathaniel works on a lot of packages in the security space, such as Kerberos. He very regularly needs to push out minor changes to a wide swath of dependent packages to clean things up. It would be useful to have him able to do this on his own, rather than having to track down me or another provenpackager all the time.

+1 from me - I think I was Nathaniels original packaging sponsor, and he has always been conscientious in his work. +1 from me.

+1, Nathaniel is a very responsible and careful individual whom I would trust as provenpackager. He has asked me in the past to use my provenpackger powers and always as a last resort.

Forwarded to sponsors.

I'm +1 myself.

It's been 7 days and I see 11 +1s and 0 -1s.

I've added you to the group. Use your powers wisely!
