#1531 Revoke rbarlow ACLs to python-pymongo
Closed None Opened 8 years ago by hguemar.

= phenomenon =

I have been effectively maintaining python-pymongo for few months and new POC rbarlow decides
1. to revoke updates that have been sitting for 3 months in testing without contacting packager first. They have been revoked under the pretext that it breaks pulp which only exists in rawhide.
2. rbarlow had pulp developers massively give negative karma without any good reason.
3. rbarlow unilaterally revoked all my ACLs given to me by the previous PoC (who recently resigned)
4. Actual Fedora packages relying on python-pymongo have been tested (openstack-zaqar and openstack-ceilometer) and require this update which fixes security update too.

= background analysis =

= implementation recommendation =

Revoke rbarlow ACL to python-pymongo and reassign it to me as PoC.

As Fesco member, I won't be taking part of the vote due to conflict of interest.
But I consider that Red Hat teams are not supposed to break things in Fedora for stuff that are not in Fedora.

Had they reached me, I would have offered that we push updates to stable for F23/EL7 and add python-pymongo-compat package for V2. Moreover, pulp being only in rawhide, and this update been pushed there 3 months ago, it's nonsense to revoke updates.

closed, rbarlow finally accepted to discuss

There appears to be some misunderstanding between two groups within Red Hat here. Let's see if we can work this out internally.

I'm strongly opposed to doing any sort of package ACL actions on this ticket or it's counter-part at this time.

For the record, I was acting as Fedora provenpackager and de-facto maintainer, this has nothing to do with my $DAYJOB. I have been a Fedora contributor long before I joined Red Hat, and I'm not even paid to work on Fedora currently.

The RDO team maintain separate repositories external to Fedora for the sole reason that we don't break Fedora packages. NEVER

All I do for Fedora is on my unpaid time, so please don't ever mention that I could be some stupid corporate drone.
