#1486 FESCo elections for F24/F25
Closed None Opened 8 years ago by thozza.

Fedora 23 GA is slowly approaching and also the new elections for FESCo seats ending with the release of F23. This ticket is a reminder and tracker for the Fedora Program Manager.

I'm creating the ticket as agreed on 2015-10-07 FESCo meeting.

I think it will be good to have such ticket everytime reported when FESCo elections will come and record all the process progress here. When new FESCo members will come, this ticket can be resolved.

Thinking of it ... I see the need of teams to have the elections somehow/somewhere tracked. However we typically do not organize elections just for FESCo. Elections are typically organized for all WGs, and teams together. As such, accepting the proposed way how to track elections will imply that we will need to track elections for other teams in the same way - which means having set of election tickets, one for each group/team, and write the same status to all this tickets. It will be not even boring but error-prone as well.

From my POV, elections are a part of the way how we assure governance. As such, I propose to have one ticket, tracking elections for all teams, opened in [https://fedorahosted.org/council/report Council's ticketing system] as Council is the top-level governance body.

Does it make sense for FESCo members as well ?

Sounds good to me.

I may not be able to attend today's FESCo meeting. I'm not sure if there will be any voting on the meeting, but to be explicit you can count my response in comment:4 as +1 on jkurik's proposal to use single ticket for all elections in the Council ticketing system.

  • AGREED: Have one ticket tracking elections for all governing bodies,
opened in Council's ticketing system as Council is the top-level
    governance body. (9, 0, 0)
