#1442 Admin and Commits privileges for Puppet package
Closed None Opened 8 years ago by gchamoul.

Hi,

Some times ago, I requested commits ACLs and commits access for the puppet package (https://admin.fedoraproject.org/pkgdb/package/puppet/) but it seems the current maintainers are not available or not responsive.

Could you please be able to grant my account (gchamoul) as administrator of the puppet package?

Thanks in advance
Gaël

Orion and I were currently the ones doing all the puppet updates recently as provenpackagers.
As I have limited puppet knowledge, I'd rather have someone with puppet expertise maintaining directly puppet.
And since unresponsive maintainers procedures with kanarip have all failed, I kindly request fesco to consider granting gchamoul admin perms on puppet.

Every time this has come up in the past the issue has been that kanarip is busy and doesn't have time to maintain, but wants to follow along and is willing to approve co-maintainers.

I see that the acls were requested today.

Have you tried mailing kanarip and explaining who you are and asking him to approve the acls?

Gael has been waiting ACLs for a long time.

Recently, asked his feedback about the puppet4 update (required as F22 shipped ruby 2.2 and this is the only release supported upstream) and got no answer. skottler and tmz didn't answer too.
Nobody answered within 2 weeks, so I had to move forward.

Rather than bickering on the devel list, I'd rather have someone adding a more reliable package admin. Moreover, Gael has been package maintainer for a while and he'll be working closely with me to improve puppet state in Fedora. If kanarip is okay with adding co-maintainers, let's not delay that anymore, especially when we have trusted people applying.

Ah, looking closer it seems they just requested approveacls acl, but requested commit on 2015-03-03.

Via an email reply to this ticket email:

"suffice it to say i only read this now, my apologies for that.

when i get back to my workstation i'll be happy to approve the requested acls."

So, hopefully this will be solved soon.

I don't see the acls approved yet...

kanarip: When might you get to this? Or if you are ok with it, I can just approve the acls in pkgdb...

We decided to grant Gael the ACLs at today's FESCo meeting.
