#1426 Update freeze dates in the schedule
Closed None Opened 9 years ago by kalev.

In a discussion today on #fedora-releng, release engineering said that the last push before the (Alpha, Beta, Final) freeze is always on Monday, as late as possible. After the push has started, nothing can go to stable any more.

We agreed that they'll wait at least until 23:59 on Monday before starting the last push. Anything that needs to go stable before the freeze has to be queued for stable in Bodhi by that time.

The schedule currently states that the freezes start on Tuesday. Please update the schedule to say that the freezes start on Monday, to avoid any misunderstandings.

Thanks,
Kalev

Sorry, correction, that should have read "23:59 UTC on Monday".

There is no change here, and the Freeze still starts Tuesday, we should make clear the cutoff point for getting updates pushed to stable. In IRC I said that the cutoff time should be 00:00 UTC on Tuesday. we have never given a definite time for the cutoff, Bodhi does a really really poor job of letting people know what is going on. The Tuesday compose is Frozen, there is a window between when we push and when things land on the mirrors.

Agreed on today’s FESCo meeting:

ACTION: jreznik to clarify that packages need to be in bodhi at 0:00 UTC on the freeze date
