#1409 provenpackager request: mstuchli
Closed None Opened 9 years ago by mstuchli.

Hi, I'm Matej Stuchlik and I would like to join the provenpackager group. I've been member of the Fedora community since 2013 and I've mainly contributed by packaging python modules, maintaining the cpython interpreter and pypy as well as helping with python packaging guidelines. I'd like to use the provenpackager priviledges for quickly fixing minor packaging problems, helping with mass rebuilds, etc.

I'm point-of-contact of 14 packages and I comaintain 13 ([https://admin.fedoraproject.org/pkgdb/packager/mstuchli/ pkgdb]).

I did 14 [[https://bugzilla.redhat.com/buglist.cgi?classification=Fedora&component=Package%20Review&email1=mstuchli%40redhat.com&emailassigned_to1=1&emailtype1=exact&list_id=3194542&product=Fedora&query_format=advanced|package reviews]]

Thank you.

well, it's been a week now with no votes. ;(

Our policy doesn't actually say what we should do in this case (if we should simply ask you to retry later or if it should go to fesco).

So, in any case fesco should clarify the policy there. Adding the meeting keyword.

The policy text is given here -> http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Provenpackager_policy

We need to define some policy in case there are no votes. Maybe like wait for one more week if still no votes then how much time we should give to the reporter to retry this request again.

+1 (as a sponsor, and as a FESCo member if we end up voting on it)

His package reviews look OK to me, even though some of them are a little brief, and he appears to have the trust of the other python people (I see bkabrda is CCed here), so that is good enough for me.

I've been in almost non-stop meetings for the last week, so I didn't get a chance to look at this.

I have no problem with granting provenpackager here. +1

This ticket will be discussed in the FESCo meeting on Wednesday at 18:00UTC in #fedora-meeting on irc.freenode.net.

I'm not going to make the meeting tomorrow, but propose we amend the policy to say: "If insufficent votes are cast in the week, the applicant is encouraged to reapply when they have made more contributions"

Then, they can apply when they wish to or feel they are more ready.

I work with Matej regularly and I have no problem from granting provenpackager rights for him. He's careful and reliable.

+1

From today’s FESCo meeting: Change http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Provenpackager_policy step 4, s/In case of negative votes/If you haven’t been automatically approved/ (+5)

(Also noting that Matěj did receive enough votes to become a provenpackager).
