#1360 Take-over of perl-Locale-PO and perl-HTML-WikiConverter-Markdown
Closed None Opened 9 years ago by rlandmann.

The maintainer for perl-Locale-PO and perl-HTML-WikiConverter-Markdown has been unresponsive since at least early August. I opened bugs in both products, emailed him directly, and finally opened more bugs requesting a response per the nonresponsive package maintainer policy:

The only response I got from a post to devel-list asking if anyone else knew his status suggests that he's not active right now:

https://lists.fedoraproject.org/pipermail/devel/2014-October/203216.html

I now need more work on these packages, so I'd like to take over maintainership.

Per https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Policy_for_nonresponsive_package_maintainers step 6 is done and the takeover is approved, we probably don’t need to discuss this at the meeting.

ACTION: thozza to ask PERL SIG how they want to handle the mass-orphaning (sgallagh, 17:30:16)

If there is to be a mass orphaning, I'd just like to register my interest in taking over perl-HTML-WikiConverter as well.

I talked to ppisar and jplesnik and they are in favor of orphaning all packages in Fedora. There is a community around Perl, so there is a good chance that people will take over (hopefully most of) the packages. Packages that will be left without owner and are useful can be taken by some Perl SIG members eventually.

Dennis or Kevin, would one of you please fire off the mass-orphan? I think we've had plenty of time for people to prepare for it.

Pingou did this today. :)
