I think we should allow the bug assignee to remove private status if they determine that there is no risk of private data being exposed.
I'd be comfortable with us doing that on a trial basis (revisiting if we find that some or many maintainers are behaving improperly).
+1 to the policy change/statement.
Does this have to go to the RH bugzilla admins for implementation?
I'm a bit confused by the description here... how are users "abusing abrt"? users are simply reporting the bug and it's being marked private because abrt feels it contains sensitive data. Unless there's some other thing happening here?
That said, I'm in favor of allowing bug assignees to remove private status, and yes, that would have to go to RH bugzilla maintainers to implement.
