= phenomenon = The mediawiki package is several years out of date.[[BR]] Fedora version: 1.16 (2010)[[BR]] Current upstream: 1.20 (2012)
There are numerous security fixes, bug fixes, and enhancements. I would like to release mediawiki 1.19 for Fedora 17 and 18, and 1.20 for rawhide. The 1.19 release is a special "long-term release".
= reason = NRM bug: https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=850937 [[BR]] NRM thread on devel list: http://lists.fedoraproject.org/pipermail/devel/2013-February/178266.html [[BR]] I have attempted to gain commit access but I never received a response to my request.
= recommendation = I am willing to take over as primary maintainer. I have already produced a working mediawiki 1.19 package that can be reviewed if necessary.
Spec: http://michael.cronenworth.com/RPMS/mediawiki.spec [[BR]] SRPM: http://michael.cronenworth.com/RPMS/mediawiki-1.19.3-0.1.fc17.src.rpm
I agree with the recommendation. Having separate mediawiki1XX packages as there are currently is a very confusing situation.
Adding meeting keyword.
I think the seperate mediawikiXXX packages may well still be needed in EPEL, but consolidating in Fedora would be great.
I agree update of mediawiki in Fedora would be good. Updates in EPEL doesn't seem to be so smart move. I would recommend more versions if maintainer agrees to maintain all of them. I can't attend the meeting, so +1 for Michael as maintainer if we don't have any reply from the previous maintainer.
agreed make daumas (mooninite) the maintainer and solicit for co-maintainers for the owner's other packages. (+5,0,0)
Ownership reassignment done.
